About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Performance Test Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team on a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension. This role is primarily remote, with only two on-site days per month in Vienna. You will be responsible for the planning, design, execution, and evaluation of load and performance tests, ensuring the scalability, stability, and availability of critical IT applications. Working with modern tools like NeoLoad, JMeter, Gatling, and Dynatrace, you will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to drive performance excellence across enterprise systems.

You will be responsible for the planning, design, execution, and evaluation of load and performance tests, ensuring the scalability, stability, and availability of critical IT applications. Working with modern tools like NeoLoad, JMeter, Gatling, and Dynatrace, you will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to drive performance excellence across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, execute, and evaluate load, stress, and performance tests (NeoLoad, JMeter, Gatling)
- Identify bottlenecks and support root cause analysis with developers and architects
- Perform performance analysis for SAP applications using onboard tools
- Monitor application and service availability using APM solutions (Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, CNCF tools)
- Prepare and communicate test results for both management (business-oriented) and development teams (technical)
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to enable colleagues in testing and monitoring practices
- Set up and maintain load-generation infrastructure (NeoLoad controllers, load generators, CI/CD integration)
- 4+ years hands-on experience with a performance testing tool (NeoLoad, JMeter, Gatling, etc.)
- Practical experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, ideally Dynatrace
- Knowledge of SAP performance analysis is a strong advantage
- 2+ years experience working with Jira and Confluence
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, structured way of working
- Fluent German (at least C1, written and spoken) and good English skills
- 12-month contract with the possibility of extension
- Mostly remote setup – only 2 days per month onsite in Vienna
- Involvement in mission-critical enterprise systems with high visibility
- Modern tools and cutting-edge performance testing frameworks
- Collaborative, agile environment with Scrum/Kanban methodologies
